Supreme Service Solutions LLC (Supreme Produce) is assisting in a Kroger Store recall for items purchased from Weirs Farm Inc. (purchased from Kroger Stores) due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

The potential contamination was discovered by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) through routine sampling.

The recalled product was distributed at Kroger retail stores located in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri and Ohio.

A full list of recalled products can be found below.

About Listeria infections

Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled, but it can also cause serious and sometimes life-threatening infections. Anyone who has eaten the recalled products and developed symptoms of Listeria infection should seek medical treatment and tell their doctors about possible exposure to Listeria.

In addition, anyone who has eaten any of the recalled products should be monitored for symptoms during the coming weeks because it can take up to 70 days after exposure to Listeria for the symptoms of listeriosis to develop.

Symptoms of Listeria infection can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and stiff neck. Specific laboratory tests are needed to diagnose Listeria infections, which can mimic other diseases.

Pregnant women, the elderly, children, and people such as cancer patients who have a weakened immune system are particularly at risk of serious illness, life-threatening infections, other complications and death. Although infected pregnant women may experience only mild flu-like symptoms, their infections can lead to premature birth, infection of the newborn, or even death.
